Your Sun, Moon and Rising signs work together. The Sun is who you are at the core, the Moon is how you feel inside and the Rising sign is how you meet the world. Reading all three gives a much fuller picture than any single sign.
Why your Rising sign matters
The Rising sign sets the layout of your whole chart. It decides which sign sits on each of the twelve houses, so it shapes where the themes of every planet play out in your life.
It also describes your first impression and your natural style when you meet something new. Its ruling planet, called the chart ruler, is one of the most important planets to read.
